Carolyn Anele and The Smith-Fraser Duo: Sunday, June 25th, 2-4pm

Opening this concert is Carolyn Anele, an award winning contemporary folk singer songwriter whose pure natural voice, innovative melodies and well crafted lyrics weave a fusion of folk, country, bluegrass and celtic roots music into uplifting stories of life, love, family and the simple journey of the human heart. Carolyn loves to write songs. She can be found at the kitchen table with papers and files all around her of songs in various forms of completion. Solitude to write is a rare occurrence these days, but she squeezes out whatever time she gets during the everyday activities of being a wife, mother and homemaker. "Family and music, it doesn't get any better than that for me!"With a voice compared to the likes of Mary Gauthier and Judy Collins and the humorous sensibilities of Connie Kaldor, Carolyn writes songs that can make you laugh and make you cry.Carolyny Anele 2017 Summer Music SeriesThis afternoon's headliners, Smith and Fraser are caught in the middle between folk and jazz – and the result is magic.  Master musicians, their concerts reflect influences as diverse as Django Rheinhart, Bruce Cockburn, Dave Brubeck and James Taylor.  They play a mix of original and classic tunes, that keep delighted audiences guessing.Andrew Smith is a troubadour whose music has taken him all over the world.  He is an accomplished singer songwriter, a captivating tap-style guitarist and an award winning music producer.  He is one of the few Canadians to have won the prestigious Kerrville Newfolk Songwriting Competition in the USA and his instrumental cd escape velocity won him the Okanagan Instrumental Artist Award.   Andrew is also a recent winner of the Okanagan Arts Awards in the category of Music.Neil Fraser is a master guitarist, studio player, composer and arranger.  Coming from a background of Jazz, Blues and Roots music, he is a highly respected and sought after musician and music teacher.
