The intersection between art, ecology, and community is the focus of my practice which isrooted in an embodied mindfulness, a passion for food from seed to taste-bud, and a deepcuriosity and respect for the ecosystems which we are a part of.With a technical background in printmaking my practice has expanded to become aninterdisciplinary one in which site-specificity, social and environmental impact, and researchthrough observation, experimentation, and collaboration are of equal importance to form andaesthetics. My material practice is ever-evolving and includes sculpture, installation, communityengagement, printmaking, papermaking, drawing, mapping, walking, the use of andcollaboration with plant and earth materials, weaving of invasive plants, and most recentlypedagogy. With a process driven and durational approach, I utilize this variety of media toexplore our impact upon and relationship with the “natural” world. My current focus restsspecifically in plants: our connection and co-evolution with them; their culinary, medicinal, andenergetic properties; and the responsible use of invasive plants as art material.I am inspired by the notion of artist as connector and instigator of social change, and throughmy practice aim to invoke a simultaneously conceptual and visceral affect.
