Artist-in-Residence, October 2022
I am a multidisciplinary artist and art librarian living on the unceded xwməθkwəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, and səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ territories. My creative practice involves tapestry weaving, printmaking, and contemporary dance, and explores themes of feminism and craft, climate change, resource extraction, and non-human communication.

Residency Project
I am currently working on a series of woven tapestries exploring resource extraction. Using images of diamond and copper mining sites in the Northwest Territories and BC interior, I'm weaving topographical maps and cross section diagrams of mines. The softness and gentless of the process and woven pieces are in contrast to mining. The results are abstracted works that are intended to portray environmental impacts and labour issues in the mining industry.
