CSMARI Poetry Workshop Takes Place in the Gallery in January
CSMARI Workshop in January
Dive into the transformative power of poetry with poet Michelle Doege. Join our workshop dedicated to the Queer community, where poetry becomes a conduit to explore the depths of our emotions. Craft verses that reflect the essence of living in Vernon, all while navigating your unique identities as Queer individuals within the broader community. Let your words inspire transformation, not only within yourself but also for those who engage with your poetic expressions.
Michelle Doege (she/her) is an author, teacher, and mentor currently living in Vernon, BC on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Syilx-Okanagan people.
Her first book of poetry, Root of Light, was published by Shanti Arts. Michelle has worked at colleges and universities in her native US and across Canada. She seeks to engage young minds and hearts in writing, literature, and issues of gender, diversity and the environment.
