Glad Tidings
Looking at the Past Year of Art Making & Community Creating at the Caetani Centre!
As we reflect on 2024 at the Caetani Centre, we want to express our deep gratitude for your support, which has made many exciting projects possible.
The year began with an Accessibility Renovation, funded by Heritage Canada's Cultural Spaces Fund and the Kalamalka Rotary Club, with thanks to contractors Al Pelleboer of Solid Build & Design and Mark Ward of Copper Fox for all their hard work and time.
In March, we hosted the Creatrix Rising Exhibition featuring artwork from Archway Society for Domestic Peace clients. Thanks to the volunteer support of both Caetani and Archway, the exhibit was a success, and we're excited for the 2025 exhibition showcasing works by those who have experienced partner-based violence.
In early 2024, we worked with Purppl on a three-year Strategic Plan to help us expand our impact in the arts, culture, and heritage community. We are grateful for the funding from the Community Foundation of the North Okanagan, the Galbraith Family Foundation, Interior Savings, Valley First, and the United Way that made this possible.
We also launched our new website, www.caetani.org, with help from Lesia Design and Digital, and celebrated its success at our Grand Reopening in June. The site has seen a 144% increase in engagement this year.
The Caetani Summer Music Festival was a highlight, with great performances, including Vancouver-based Boom Booms and the last hurrah by our music coordinator Andrew Mercer and his band Cod Gone Wild. Volunteers made this and other events, including our summer tour season, a success.
In September, we hosted the first Caetani Classic Golf Charity for the Arts at the Edge at the Rise Golf Resort. With title sponsor, Simolo Carts and all the generous sponsorships and donations, we raised significant funds for the Centre.
This fall, we celebrated BC’s Culture Days with a series of events, attracting over 400 visitors, and held our sold-out Conjuring the Spirits Halloween event.
Looking ahead, we continue to host Creative Reconciliation workshops, funded by the Community Foundation of the North Okanagan’s Smart & Caring program, as well as the Creating Space: Youth Arts Programs, supported by the BC Arts Council and the Regional District of the North Okanagan.
Our volunteers have been indispensable, maintaining the grounds and gardens, helping to host events and enriching the Caetani community throughout the year.
None of this would have been possible without your support. Thank you to all our members, volunteers, sponsors, and donors. Stay connected in 2025 by visiting our website, following us on social media, or subscribing to our newsletter.
Stay tuned for exciting upcoming events when we reopen on January 8th, 2025.
On behalf of the Board and staff of the Caetani Centre, we wish you a safe, peaceful, and joyful holiday season and a bright 2025.
