Museum Interpreter and Curatorial Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Curatorial Assistant to join our team. The Curatorial Assistant will support the Caetani Centre in various tasks related to interpretive tours and exhibitions, program and event coordination, curatorial research and design, database management and public engagement.

Responsibilities:
- Engage community on-site and online through exhibits and special events taking place at the Caetani Centre
- Assist in ongoing programs at Caetani Centre, including the Artist-in-Residence program
- Interpret heritage displays through guided, private and educational tours
- Collaborate with the small team on project management tasks
- Assist in the organization, coordination and renewal of exhibitions and displays
- Assist in the preparation and installation of artworks
- Conduct research on collection items, artwork, and historical contexts
- Maintain accurate records of collections using databases and metadata standards
- Support the development of exhibition materials such as labels and brochures, as well as digital and audio-visual materials

Requirements:
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or have refugee status in Canada
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid social insurance number
- Must be between 16 and 30 years of age inclusively at the start of employment
- Must hold a post-secondary degree, preferably in Museum Studies, Archival Studies, Art History, Visual Art, Communications, History, or related field

Preferred Skills:
- Excellent written, spoken and visual communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated fluency in graphic design and digital media software an asset
- Proficiency in research methods and dissemination skills
- Knowledge of database management and metadata standards an advantage
- Motivated to work effectively both on individual projects and as part of a small team
- Previous employment in arts, culture and heritage sector an asset
